Why are people so obscenely resistant to admitting when they've lost? Why is this true for YOU? Why are you *personally* so resistant?
Or is that not a self-reflection that people are capable of? Is it like thinking about infinity? Then forget it, and just talk about the dumbasses you've proven wrong. WTF is going on with them? Get a load of those obstinate bastards, am I right? The nerve.
What's so bad about being wrong sometimes? I literally don't get it. Help this dumbass understand. When they're about to see they're wrong, people act like you insulted their mother.
What gives? Thoughts?
(INB4 cognitive dissonance. Labels don't explain phenomena.)
It is a fool’s fortress and shame’s cloak.
> What's so bad about being wrong sometimes?
I imagine the word “wrong” above replaced with the word “human”.
> cognitive dissonance
Losing your shit and acting like a proud little bitch/child is NOT cognitive dissonance, despite popular misconception. Freaking out and screaming at/attacking something to make it go away and/or prevent discussion/communication/learning/reflection/humility is ALSO not cognitive dissonance.
Cognitive dissonance is the brain’s inherent, and most often completely painless, ability to hold and even reconcile 2 paradoxical positions at once. Cognitive dissonance is actually what ENABLES human beings to continue to believe they are right while at once being definitively proven wrong.
