Gravity (and by that I mean gravitation) is never explained. Newton famously refused to even try, and declared that it was simply god’s will. In a way, the entire hypothetical contrivance of “space time” was invented as a means to TRY and explain Newtonian gravitation - however, when you use a fictional/non-real thing (spacetime) to try to explain something real (gravity)…

They said the same thing about geocentrism and the rain dance! There is a HUGE difference between **useful** (i.e. testable predictions which correspond to reality) and **correct**. Even Einstein knew he was wrong towards the end…
