It could be, but why shall we believe in that? The belief that there is an edge one could fall off would be enough to scare people from traveling too far away from home.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for convincing niggers and shitskins that the earth is flat so that maybe they hide at home in fear. But for regular people there is no benefit. Sometimes we just don't know the truth and that's something we have to accept.
I've seen enough proof of a somewhat spherical earth, as for the rest of space I don't know and I don't really care. Other planets are too far away and too out of reach for us to ever get there.
And that is perfectly fine. Throughout history, the majority of people never traveled far away from home, that is a relatively new phenomena. So this edge, whether real or not wouldn't bother most people in the first place.
Thousands of years ago most of the Euroasian continent were all mapped out, people could travel allover it without fear of encountering the edge if they wanted to, but most people didn't.
