Some would say local camps use their own numbering, but seeing how they sent them to multiple camps would mean they would all need unique numbers.

Better yet, why would you number them if you’re just going to kill them?
I saw a comic of an exterminator doing that to roaches and the other guy was asking that question. I’ll have to find it again.

You wouldn't need a unique identifier in that case. And in an era when long sleeves are the norm, if you're gonna mark death camp prisoners to keep them from escaping, why not simply mark the face?

that's what i've been saying forever. its war. why set up gargantuan logistical operations to find jews throughout entire europe and ship them to centralized camps just to kill them? wouldn't it make sense just to kill them on the spot? see a jew, BAM! done and done. save time and money.
