Quetzalcoatl is also interesting in context - all over the world, humans were created out of dirt by a feathered snake. Apparently, humans were made in the image of the snake, so we are to assume that our appearance shares some similarity to the snake.
The Chinese have the exact same mythology, through NuWa, who is upper-half female human and lower half snake, and made the Chinese out of mud.
The Christians/jews are close, in that they are made from dirt in their god's image (but not by serpents), while serpents were cast onto their bellies permanently as punishment in Gen 3:14. This suggests that serpents either could walk or were otherwise upright before, and may share some common lineage with the other so-called creation myths.
Very cool stuff when you realize that these myths predate seafaring cultures, so the same ideas were independently 'reinvented' by wildly different peoples separated by large bodies of water. The idea of 'maybe these stories weren't just invented' is quite exciting.

Modern humans come from Noah’s family and their shared knowledge of Creation was passed down as they wandered the Earth. Its possible that Ham and Canaan had these Jewish features. As each of the races wandered the Earth for new land, they would have retained their knowledge of Ham but the story would change over time after the death of those alive during Noah’s time. The original themes and warnings would be retained.
A small group of people would quickly devolve back into the cave age and lose the frames of reference to correctly transmitte the story. If they didn't die from inbreeding after a half dozen generations.
Even from a secular standpoint, modern humans originating from a small group is a [widely accepted belief](https://archive.ph/pz3Y9) with some variance. The main difference is whether to accept this was Noah and his extended family or the secular theory that Homo Sapiens simply existed and expanded out of Africa.
> The ‘Out of Africa’ model was the most widely favoured explanation accounting for the origins of modern humans. It suggested that modern humans originated in Africa within the last 200,000 years from a single group of ancestors. Modern humans continued to evolve in Africa and had spread to the Middle East by 100,000 years ago and possibly as early as 160,000 years ago. Modern humans only became well established elsewhere in the last 50,000 years. The different physical features now found in modern humans from different geographical areas around the world are believed to have evolved over only the last 60,000 years or so as a result of adaptations to different environments.
> Evidence indicates that Neanderthal and Denisovan traits emerge in Eurasia, while Homo sapiens traits emerge in Africa. Africa and Eurasia are isolated until H. sapiens disperses and interbreeds with the other two (and possibly some other unknown archaic species). Modern humans essentially absorb and replace the fragmentary local populations.
Though I hold doubts that the ancient races still existed after the Flood. Perhaps some of their wives had DNA from Neanderthals and other races which resulted in the confusion.
Regardless, several races were banished to darkness for accepting devils and became slaves for thousands of years. How bless would one be for being born among Abraham’s people rather than the dark races of the Canaans, Khazars, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
There is this one injun myth from Santa Barbara that says humans where going to have hands based on the coyote, but the lizard was a trickster and gave the humans hands that are based on his own claws, which made the coyote angry.
A weird myth for sure, but lizards are literally just snakes with limbs(and a few other differences), so I thought I would bring it up.
Not my idea. Other people have elaborated on this. There's evidence like massive stones that no amount of woods and ropes could have moved over the distances they were moved.
