Oh yeah. I know that. I was involved with American type Christianity for awile. Cavalry Chapel, the Jesus Movement, Evangelical shit and stuff.
"Thank You Jesus!" "I praise thee", The Simpsons made fun of this non responsibilty type passive Christianity with Homer going "Dear Jeebus" Then God responding, "do what feels right, as long as you are a good person in your heart."
As long as it's not going the overly outgroup virtue signaling that many western sects of Christianity are doing. If you church is not sending folks to Africa, South America and Burma to tend to the third world while the home church/society is dying at home.
One big red flag from my old church was that it slowly became mostly 50 and above with the occasional grandchild but you'd rarely see the adult children of the Pastors and Deacons at church.
