Grooming is influencing young people to make them receptive and pliable to sexual abuse. Endearing them to you, making them love you, making them fear you, making them feel like it's their fault, making them feel like they will get in trouble if they talk, and then fucking them. Grooming is when an adult has a sexual relationship with a young, naïve, impressionable child. Usually refers to child marriage in Muslim cultures where a girl is married as young as 3 years old. "Grooming" refers to how the adult basically raises the child bride because they have are separated from their parents. It is strongly associated with Stockholm syndrome and sexual abuse.
I distinctly recall that, right before "groomer" was a political term, it was a nonsense term youtubers would throw at eachother.
And before that, it meant a predator who used internet to lure children to them irl.
