Because the (((Allied Powers))) basically ovveran the Church after they were finished gutting Germany. The Pope has basically been a prisoner in Rome ever since the (((Second Vatican Counsel))), and the jews made sure to flood the seminaries with literal communist faggots (which led to the sex abuse scandal) to make sure the clergy would be compromised for the next century. Of course, the Church has a natural immune system to deal with subversion and infiltration in the form of priestly celibacy, but unfortunately it takes a lot of time for it to correct itself.
