I recently learned that, in Ontario, they're now using what they call "dynamic evaluation" on the province-wide standardised tests.
The first half is a mix of questions, but the second half changes depending on how well you do; if you do well, there are more difficult questions, if you do poorly, there are no difficult questions.
This means that anyone generally doing well gets lumped into the same level as people who can't pass without help. Equity.
And the province wide pass rate for math is still only 50%. Absolutely no one is talking about this crisis.

I did not know that. Is that for elementary school or high school? I've got a kid in elementary and helping him with homework is infuriating when the teacher doesn't even proof read their own crap or it's just plain wrong.
