It's possible that the way I'm accessing the site from my mobile browser is causing the issue. Because I think that was mentioned in the discussion you are referencing. I don't think everyone is seeing that same community header that I am.

I use a narrow window to protect actual screen resolution. But I can confirm that this big green neon sign is pretty big and looks kind of bad even up to a width of ~1200px. This picture needs about 1920 to fit the entire thing property. Anything wider makes it zoom in. at ~7000px width it looks just as terrible as it does on a phone screen, but also blurry.

I too am a phone fag and hate the screaming face. The neon green sign is not great but not as repulsive. I miss the pretty banner we had once but even that wasn't designed with phones in mind. Next one should look good on both mobile and desktop.
Use adblock, select element, block.

I wouldn't know, my friend. You would have to ask one of the mods. You could try pinging them. I'm sure whatever you have in mind would be better than what we currently have.
Right click the banner, open image in new tab, download, check properties and it will tell you the resolution. Then just copy that
That banner won the contest for a new banner awhile back but I don’t see the screaming face on my end.
