I'm fairly certain a great majority of what men do from a certain age is to attract women. It's been like this most of recorded history.

Of course, but lifting weights for the sake of mostly, and/or only aesthetics was not one of them. This is a very recent phenomenon, and it’s completely out of control IMHO.
