Hey all. Me and my pastor have been having a 1 on 1 sit down each week just to chit chat about the Bible. This upcoming week were finally breaking into the jews. Obviously like most here, I knowbthey're awful in the world, but I'm looking for more biblical resources to site from. I have many noted already but wondering if yall have more for me. Also he is very based so far, so do not worry about coming on too strong.

If Jews understood the old testament the way Christians do, and recognized Jesus as the messiah, would there be any Jews left? No, "there is no longer any distinction between Jew and gentile." u/User_99 also makes a relevant point.

A lot of people are obsessed with the current nation-state of Israel because of bad interpretations of prophecy. Specifically, rebuilding the temple seems to be an important event that is expected to yet occur, accompanied by returning the ark of the covenant to the holy place, and resuming animal sacrifices. This all (should) contradicts a solid understanding of the New Testament.
If Jews accepted Jesus as the messiah, would there be any push to rebuilt the temple? It would deny that the gospel is freely accessible to all.
Or, to put the ark of the covenant in the most holy place? That is, deny the Holy Spirit provides access to God for all who accept.
Or, resume animal sacrifices? Denying that Jesus paid the once and final penalty for our sin.
Gary DeMar discusses misinterpretations of prophecy quite well. This podcast https://garydemar.libsyn.com/biblical-context-under-the-microscope addresses some of the points I made here.
