I heard very recently Russia has started to really help him out again with many airstrikes and drones. Maybe since Russia is now clearly advancing in Ukraine now they can help Assad way more.
Even though I'm not an ardent Putin defender, he at least has done some good, and resisted globohomo in Syria. I'm not sure why, or if, Putin would abandon Assad, since Syria is Russia's only ally in the entire region. One of the main reasons why the West wants to topple Assad's government, is because he refused to let Qatar run an oil and gas pipeline through his country into Europe, which would directly compete with one of Russia's primary exports to Europe, their oil and gas. it would be incredibly foolish for Putin to abandon Assad to (((Western))) backed (((rebels))).
I had on npr and they all kept saying “ass-ad” the butcher. When did they stop saying “uh-sod”? Shit was weird. But yeah it seems like they’re amping things up to a pretty hot level just before trump gets in
>Westerners act like war is a sport, where you cheer for one side and boo the other, it is rather childish and unhelpful.
I see what you are saying but sports are basically mass control tools made to keep people invested in pointless "wars" so they don't get interest into real ones. That said, I find it extremely ironic to see a community that is mostly so adamant about not giving a shit about Ukraine, even though it is in Eastern Europe, while praying for Assad.
USA is deeply involved in Syria with military bases, financial backing of rebels. we actually control a good portion of the nation. I get it, it's kind of like not caring all that much about Hawaii. It's still very important to our master's international policy and it effects our spending and debt. also lives of our soldiers. although if you're a USA soldier at this point... well.
He was undermined by Israel/Jewsa Putin cut hus losses. Assays own generals have betrayed him and the army is folding. Iran is already working on making deals with the ISIS types to allow them passage to Lebanon.
