I heard very recently Russia has started to really help him out again with many airstrikes and drones. Maybe since Russia is now clearly advancing in Ukraine now they can help Assad way more.
Even though I'm not an ardent Putin defender, he at least has done some good, and resisted globohomo in Syria. I'm not sure why, or if, Putin would abandon Assad, since Syria is Russia's only ally in the entire region. One of the main reasons why the West wants to topple Assad's government, is because he refused to let Qatar run an oil and gas pipeline through his country into Europe, which would directly compete with one of Russia's primary exports to Europe, their oil and gas. it would be incredibly foolish for Putin to abandon Assad to (((Western))) backed (((rebels))).
His only chance is with Iran now.
I haven't kept up with (((breaking))) news for a few years now.
