I've been having a semi-playful argument with a friend for years about "democracy". He insists the system works, it's just never implemented properly due to corruption. I tell him it's *designed* with these flaws, to *allow* corruption, therefore it's inherently broken.
there's a very good quote to use for exactly this concept: the purpose of a system is what it does. i've noticed that once you drive that in, normies default to a very weaksauce "but wouldn't it be nice..." stance that pretty much shuts them up (and lets you talk)
Something fucky absolutely happened during the elections. i still don't understand what or who did this, but Calin Georgescu was literally never heard of, i haven't heard about him in my life and most of the people i know never heard about him either. I found out he exists AFTER the elections
He had 0 legacy media covers, 0 interviews with the press, 0 electoral posters in the cities (i live in Bucharest, the capital of RO).
He apparently surged on tiktok which i don't have, but still, how much could you possibly do on a single platform? He was not currently a member of any major party, he had his own new and obscure one.
It would have been a shock if someone with that little coverage got over 5% but he got FIRST place with 23% https://prezenta.roaep.ro/prezidentiale24112024/pv/romania/results/
There is definitely something inorganic about his growth. The campaign on tiktok was very clever but does not explain even a quarter of his votes.
The campaign also likely costed a ton of money which were not declared and it seems to have disregarded the law that states you can't campaign in the elections weekend. The last part is ambiguous because tiktok is technically a foreign platform, not ro based, but definitely has ro reach.
And frankly the law is retarded because many people, including politicians, give veiled but obvious statements on their vote without saying it. For example the president said he voted "for an european Romania" which makes it obvious he did not vote for the sovereign/nationalist candidates. These statements are very common and all politicians share them.
As for this Calin Georgescu guy, he talks like the schizos in /c/greatawakening, even if russia did it, it's still a very poor choice. He's like the meme of nationalists that leftists/globalists want to portray us as.
My personal opinion was that he was pushed by EU to take away votes from George Simion, the only nationalist leader that had a chance to win the elections if he made it to the second round. Their plan worked too well and they pushed him more than they needed him. They only wanted to take votes from George Simion so that BOTH lose.
So this would make the current Constitutional Court ruling, even if absurd and illegal, the best case scenario for George Simion to make it to second round and win the presidency because I expect CG will get banned from the following elections, just as Sosoaca (someone like him) was, on the obscure and baseless "russian puppet" accusation.
The media and institutional campaign against CG after the elections was absolute insanity. Think US media vs Trump but 10x worse.
what?? I'm Polish and didn't really paid attention during those, only thing i know is that some (((neolibs))) have majority, while (((neocons))) minority even tho polish politics are less kiked. what happened??

It amazes me. Every country in the world is afraid of these insane billion dollar psy-ops delivered by Putin to destabilize every other country in the world!
How does a country with the GDP of California currently going into debt to finance a losing war in Ukraine manage to get so much influence to successfully influence so many people!? He must be just an absolute WIZARD!
Another point for me, I guess.
They don't even have to go to war, they just undermine all candidates except the one who supports what they want and the country destroys itself.
