You can tell by the way they write and speak that Doug Wilson and James White do everything they do to make themselves appear clever and witty.
I noticed the same thing with preachers who reference "the original Greek text". One will use it to make what the Bible says more clear and the other will use it to sound smart and make the Bible say something it doesn't.
