Yeah the city I live in is about half black if you dont go to any suburbs. So that definitely plays a role.
But at the same time, its the breakfast question of census. Americans know what the map looks like. They know there are those rural areas. To think theyre too stupid to consider other areas, and use purely anecdotal circumstances is, to me, equivalent to the "but I did eat breakfast this morning".
