It shows true Love when you sacrifice yourself (desires, aspirations, etc) to ensure your offspring are well off and given a Good footing. Thus you inherit the Good from your Father too. But the Good is selfless for he himself does not benefit from it directly except in only self sacrifice.

Yes Christianity preaches this but this literally how the world works. So I dont even need to bring religion into this for you to see it.
