It's a bit of both but they still need to get some motion in the ocean so that they can enjoy good food as part of a healthy lifestyle. Eating high calorie food is a wonderful part of life and if you do a lot of work to earn those meals, that work improves your life in other ways. I think half the battle (batter?) for a fattie is finding something overtly pleasant to do outside, and that the other half is replacing poisons with beautiful meat and bounty. I disapprove of outright eating less if one can help it. Having a good intake is a positive and empowering thing (at least for a man) if harnessed correctly.
