All these generational fights have become tiresome, if you are an adult you should be no expecting anything from your parents, if they give you something you should appreciate, if they don't that should be fine also.

No, if you abandon your family at any point you are wrong. Your offspring don't magically stop being your offspring when they turn 18.

We aren't asking for everything, we are asking for family to help as they can. You don't get to abandon your family at any time.

Why take care of your loved ones? It's fine if I leave my dad in an elder care home being abused and confused. No expectations right? Pass the mashed potatoes! Why judge me? He's an adult.
