No, if you abandon your family at any point you are wrong. Your offspring don't magically stop being your offspring when they turn 18.

We aren't asking for everything, we are asking for family to help as they can. You don't get to abandon your family at any time.

Be your own man, take care of your loved ones, don't expect anything from anybody, be grateful every time that somebody helps you, and do not repeat the mistakes of other generations.

Why take care of your loved ones? It's fine if I leave my dad in an elder care home being abused and confused. No expectations right? Pass the mashed potatoes! Why judge me? He's an adult.
