Farmer's markets are a scam?

People on here say to shop at a farmers market instead of a grocery store. I went today and a vendor was selling a dozen of eggs for $10. Everything is extremely overpriced and it seems that there are a lot of resellers.

you must live in a granola/lentil hippie area. go outside of your soy town, you will find better and cheaper
