Right now you may think they are just trying their same tired tricks and people are seeing through it, but be on the look out when it actually matters when they deploy their new tricks. You will know because your fellow conservatives will be fully convinced that it is their moral obligation to go to war, you may even grow these feelings and you will be convinced it was your decision and not the result of propaganda, and it will be so smooth that nobody even realizes they now have the polar opposite belief as what they had a month ago.

They can pull this off with something as simple as having Trump give the order in a patriotic speech, probably relating the "enemy" with liberalism.

I disagree. Look at Ukraine, they are grabbing people off the street and shipping them to the front or killing men en masse. Times have changed since the 1970's, and the govt has gotten much more competent unfortunately.

draft is just for massive ground invasions, and even then only in extreme cases. the US probably isn't going to be doing much of that in the near future.

the end goal for any such situation is a simple regime change. textbook USA foreign policy for that is to just make the natives revolt and provide air support and logistics where possible. bombing the shit out of things goes a very long way, and as long as any key resources have been secured, the longer it drags out the better
