How can that even happen? Was it like an early birth, or how did she manage to rip off the head of a baby?

This was a legs first aka breach birth, they pulled on the legs and when the shoulders came out the vagina grippped and the force was such the head detached and remained in the womb. The then had to give the poor woman a ceasarean to extract the head.

if it is a head first but forceps birth, head is gripped and pulled, neck breaks

same thing happened in Feb this year in the US
