Have fun walking through a tick habitat every time you check your mailbox. There's a reason every farmhouse I've ever seen had a lawn separating the house from the fields.

Are you telling me you don't have a driveway? no deck, footpath, not even a gravel road connecting your house to the main-road? What kind of third world country are you living in? Walking over a lawn is just stupid, even if perfectly maintained you can bet you'll step on a murder snail and get disgusting slime allover your shoes.

Nice false dichotomy. You were acting like any lawn is a waste of space.

So I happen to have a lot of grass left over after planting a large garden and a bunch of fruit trees and vines, so what? It makes a good place for my kids to play outside.

Sounds like a fruit garden more than a desolate lawn. Don't take it too seriously, fruit gardens are great. HOA suburbs are the real issue, small lawns not being used for anything other than providing jobs for spics who cut it.
