Cheers! Next on the list will be upgrading the bookshelves, then there's a nice statue of the Archangel Michael I've been eying up. Anything I can do to glorify God in my home

I really want a censer so I can burn frankincense and myrrh at home, but the ones they sell to churches are so expensive and a lot of the cheaper ones have design flaws. Nice collection of leather-bound Bibles though.

It is better to burn incense humbly on a piece of pine wood than to burn it with arrogance in a golden vessel. God does not care how you burn your incense. The act interacts with you. The God who created the incense is not more favorably invoked because of certain vanities concerning it. It is your soul invoking him because you believe, not incense and not a censer.

>arrogance of burning incense in a vessel made for burning incense rather than a flammable piece of wood

Not trying to burn my place down. Putting coals on wood and not expecting fire is retarded.

Don't quote me because things *do* happen, but incense isn't going to ignite wood very easily.

You're thinking of sticks of incense, but frankincense and myrrh are resins and have to be burned on coal. Coal will start a fire. There are of course f & m "scented" sticks which are dipped in essential oil at best, or ethyl esters (likely if they don't specifically say essential oils). The problem with those is that essential oils typically don't smell anything like the source material, there are different species of trees that produce f& m and they mostly won't specify which, and most of the incense sticks are made by Jeets, and I don't trust Jeets.

I am not thinking of sticks. I have a bottle of Livani sitting within arms reach of me right now.

I'll go burn some on some wood and report back lol. It's been very dry around here.

I burnt some on a pine 2x4. The incense burned on the wood without any problems. It took me directly hitting the wood with my torch to get the wood to start burning and it went out within 10 seconds. A torch is a lot hotter than incense coals.

I burn my incense in a little ceramic cup though. If you do burn on wood, probably a good idea to keep an eye on it regardless.

Most of the censers in churches are brass.

Much of what is in most churches is not gold. Typically gold is reserved for the paten and the chalice. The cost isn't in the materials but in the niche market.

Edit: also.... you said it wasnt about the incense but belief? Try explaining that to Nadab and Abihu.

There have been solid gold censers, I was using two extremes for dramatic effect.

Yes, it is about belief. Ritual brings man closer to God, it does not bring God closer to man. Man becoming closer to God brings God closer to man. A heathen does not become more righteous because he burns the same incense in his vain beliefs. A Christian does not please God more or less because he physically burns the incense in a certain way or other, God is pleased because the incense was burnt in faith.

These things interact with our humanity. The chalice is holy because we have decided it to be holy, therefore it invokes a perception of higher worth than pine board. But God has made both the pine and the chalice, and he has made the incense, and the man who burns it. What has God gained?

Abide in faith, hope and charity. The greatest of these is charity.

I hear you, enriching the whole senses during prayer is one of my favourite things about the Apostolic churches. Ascending all things in beauty: sight, sound, smell

The boomers are double edge sword, theyre preventing judeo-faggotry from being exterminated, but at the same time they also hold it back from reaching full force, because the jews know that if they openly burnt churches instead of doing it clandestinely, the boomers would finally put 2 and 2 together and put an end to them, since theyre the last set of whites with any real political power. The moment the boomers are gone, the jews and their allies will fully remove their masks and show the world the devils they are.

Don't worry, the boomers are a dying breed. Soon we'll have our [Flammenwerferfest](https://files.catbox.moe/ogdtdy.mp4).
