yeah, 100% met up with the manufacturer or some middleman on the way to plant explosives and surveillance in some random shipment they figured was going to hezbollah.

i wish one of those shitskins would tell us which brand it was - would shift all the discourse from this propagandized "wow israel is soo coool for planting bombs in pagers doctors use" to being about how israel will just plant bombs in random pagers...

Pagers were Gold Appolo AR-924. Taiwanese company said it did not manufacture this batch, but licensed the brand to a Hungarian company, BAC, which is a Mossad front. That company officially has 1 employee on the books.

The exploding walkie talkies were of brand ICOM, amongst others.

yeah, also saw a thread on kotakuinaction2.win detailing the pager situation.

it looks more and more like just a terrorist attack on Lebanon in general than anything laser-focused towards Hezbollah itself, done by buying and reselling equipment presumably at very favorable prices, whether the manufacturers were in on it or not. i can't stand all these morons, even on our side, praising mossad for this daring spy movie operation. give me 2 billion dollars in stolen money every year and i'll put bombs in all sorts of devices through a shell company too...

To be fair, Hezbollah ordered thousands of pagers for its personel. Probably got a very attractive price. Israelis spiked the units with explosives (and probably surveillance). Initial inspection didn't reveal anything. The explosives were likely very well camouflaged in the circuit board. Probably made to look like some components, my guess would be. Hope they post pictures, as many didn't explode (they were offline). Israelis say that they had to "use it or lose it" as there was growing suspicion towards the pagers.

Hezbollah has a very wide civilian infrastructure. It runs hospitals, schools, media, banks, agriculture, construction, etc.

The pagers were distributed to combatants and non-combatants. Many kids, women, and bystanders were killed/injured.

Nevertheless, let's assume the targets were all combatants. Targeting unarmed combatants that are not directly participating in hostilities is, some would argue, a war crime. Lawfare is absurd, because in this world, might makes right.
