Ayh have never seen an economic break-down of the cost difference between using natural ingredients versus artificial ingredients, as to validate the reason is greed and not greed AND keeping us dumb and sick. Any one have a chart/link?

It's hydrogenated vegetable oil, just like margarine. Quality cookies use butter instead.

Shortening was lard until processed oil became standardized in 1970's(g).
