HVAC you can charge $150+ per service call
Roofing, fencing, plumbing repairs, etc
Also, when you have employees, say you are paying them $20 per hour, you still have to pay about 30% more to cover FICA taxes, unemployment insurance, paid holidays, healthcare insurance, etc
When I charge $40-$50 per hour it has to cover overhead, gas, tools, time on road commuting, pay for my own insurance and holidays, etc
If spics who don't even speak English, have no transportation and no tools get $20 per hour then I sure as hell am going to charge at least double that for being competent, trustworthy, having my own vehicle and tools, etc.
Wageslave jobs suck. It is easy to just go into business for yourself. It's freedom. And you make money for work you actually do. No punching clock. I do 8 hours work in just 4-5 hours.
Money isn't everything. Who and what do you serve?

Best thing about being in business for yourself is that, depending on the business, you can usually choose who you work for and who you hire. Don't like someone? Don't work for them regardless how much they pay.
