On one hand, I can feel his frustration. Reading between the lines, you can tell what he is really complaining about. If you've ever worked rural manufacturing/fab etc, you know methheads are a big problem, as they can actually appear clean ... for a few weeks, or long enough to snag the job. Then, they randomly disappear from the Earth for days, occasionally steal tools to pawn, etc.
