Note that [Anna’s Archive](https://annas-archive.org/) is bigger and also includes nearly 100 million scientific papers (and gives absolutely no pretense about being a piracy site), but it does lack some of the types of things Archive.org is designed to save.

I think the suit is about archive.org as a whole, the *document saving* site, rather than specifically web.archive.org—the Wayback Machine—which saves websites. Archive.[xx] saves *website pages* too, but doesn’t save audio files, video files, books, or other documents. Hell, it has real trouble even saving a raw PDF.

Anna’s is like Archive.org plus Sci-Hub, whereas it doesn’t save websites.

Dont open any PDFs unless the PDF is older than 12 months. Let them sit and wait. MOSSAD and FBI keep uploading malware to PDF sites.

ZLibrary mirror list. The TOR one works, and singlelogin.re also seems to work.

If you have the space, bandwidth and a good vpn like mullvad, consider seeding the archives, especially the ones lacking like the really big ones

There is also a wealth of resource on JSTOR, but you have to have an university, local library account, or the like. They also record IP addresses when you dl the pdf.

I had to use it to get text on Ford and Lindbergh.

Most of the scientific papers indexed through there can be obtained through Sci-Hub or Anna’s Archive. The other stuff, yeah, I don’t know.

I have more books in my harddrive than i'll ever read

Simply speaking... Spending hours on reading text is no longer stimulating to my zoomer brain due to years of consuming addictive and accessible media

Jewtube shorts destroyed my attention span ☹️

Unfuck yourself.

Put your phone next to your bed when you're home and don't pick it up unless you get an actual phone call.

Don't use phone for anything that isn't phone.

Put away shorts/tiktok/etc. Accept the withdrawal the same way any other addict must to be their own man.

The only way to fix this wholesale would be to brick my internet modem

But... Without internet how will i even access the conpro?
ReChristianize on scored.co

The idea of fixing things wholesale can be used as an excuse not to do anything, because the whole is so daunting. Instead, make incremental changes. Remove one thing that damages you, and make it stick for a month. When you are tempted (you will be) or stumble back into an old habit, remind yourself verbally that you are not a nigger and you can control yourself, even when it doesn't feel good.

And tbh you need a good head on your shoulders more than you need conpro.

How? Reading a good book and picturing/imagining the scene is so amazing and at times better than any visual media can ever be.

You can train your brain to be able to read books. It's very hard to read a book at first, but the more you force yourself to do it, the more you get better at it. Reading a book is a skill that you acquire by doing it. So don't give up, it gets easier the more you read.

Wait... people haven't been doing that? Also...

singlelogin.re or libgen.rs are good alternatives for the books.

Locally and syncthing to have a real time encrypted copy in a cloud server I control. Server goes down (unlikely) I simply replace it. If they take my house, I simply get a new device and connect syncthing to download it all again. Always backup your archived anti-semitism. 👌

Calm your tits.

This decision is about a specific business model that they had to allow users to borrow more copies of a book than the physical copies that Archive owned. The court simply said that this was illegal: if Archive has purchased 5 physical copies of a book then they can lend only 5 at a time, just like any other library.

The court didn't say that Archive needs to shut down.

In fact, the books that were freely available for download were already obviously violating copyright laws. If they had wanted to enforce that, they could have done it long before this lawsuit.

If Archive.org decides to remove the freely available content then it's up to them deciding to do so. There isn't a SWAT team going to their offices.

It is possible that after this decision they'll cave and start removing books on copyright claims, but this is the same for every website in existence. Always save all of your books in your physical hard drive. So that any one of us can re-upload them anytime, anywhere.
You cannot stop the internet.

And to celebrate that Archive is still up, here some links to some good books:

Hmm... one of the books that was in my library
"Day of deceit : the truth about FDR and Pearl Harbor" i cannot burrow anymore, luckily i did download a PDF of this book some years ago and have it in my harddrive

so this decision to stop burrowing books is already taking place... i'd still recommend archiving shit on your portable solid state drive if you can afford it, nothing's is going to last forever but thank you for the links.
HimmlerWasRight88 on scored.co
1 year ago 1 point (+0 / -0 / +1Score on mirror )
Why did you say solid state drive?
It is well known that hard disk drives last longer and are more reliable long term. The advantage of solid state drives is that they read much faster, and this is why they are so common today, but in terms of data longevity the older technology of hard drives (HDD, with the spinning disk, to be clear) is still better.

In any case you should have 2 copies in two separate disks. And if you want to be even more secure, transfer them to new disks every few years.

Lastly what you can do is put your stuff in an *encrypted archive* and then upload it to a Google or Microsoft cloud. Big tech will take care of your file for you and because of the encryption they won't know what's in there.

Everything I store for posterity is on a series of 1TB or more external hard drives. I've never put anything in any "cloud" storage or anything online-based due to this exact scenario.

I suggest to others to do the same anytime this topic comes up. Some have taken the advice, others wind up losing shit they thought was "safe". Nothing is safe when the thieves are the ones with the keys to your vault.
