Here is the metric of good vs. evil:
Good are things like health, wealth, power, wisdom, knowledge, children, etc....
Evil are things like sickness, poverty, weakness, illiteracy, ignorance, childlessness etc...
The question isn't whether unions are good and evil. Unions are not human. The question is whether you should join the union or not, as well as whether you should try to become a union leader, or perhaps form a union where none was before.
I think in the context of good and evil, the answer is obvious.
If the union will secure you more wealth and power and more children, then go for it. If not, then don't.
