For the study, led by Nathaniel Harnett, Ph.D., director of the Neurobiology of Affective Traumatic Experiences Laboratory at McLean Hospital, researchers analyzed surveys and MRI brain scans of more than 7,300 White children and nearly 1,800 Black children in the U.S. who were 9 and 10 years old. They found Black children displayed small neurobiological differences reflected as lower gray matter volumes in the amygdala, hippocampus and prefrontal cortex compared with white children.

“Our research provides substantial evidence of the effects structural racism can have on a child’s developing brain, and these small differences may be meaningful for their mental health and wellbeing through adulthood,” said Dr. Harnett, who is also an assistant professor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

You are probably right, because research shows time and time again that brain atrophy, especially the amygdala, is caused by extreme neglect at a very young age, not from peers in later years. I can't remember the study off the top of my head, but it involved bringing children into a room with a stranger, and seeing how they reacted when their guardian left the room. Abused or neglected children either didnt react at all, or were constantly sporadic whether their guardian was in the room or not, indicating a malfunction of their fear complex. Brain atrophy is pretty rare outside of congenital or genetic defects while in gestation as well, since our minds are constantly reforming connections that we injure from accidents and or traumatic events, so we never really "lose" gray matter the way they are trying to claim. If it was really caused by "racism", the amygdala would light up like a Christmas tree from fear, not atrophy like in the case of neglect or abuse, which would indicate that they have something bigger to fear than a meager racial insult.
