I think you missed the point.

Roads are good to get into and out of an area.

If there are no roads, and you live there ---

Well I'm not saying remove roads from cities entirely, we just need to make them inconvenient for commuting and prioritize pedestrians and trams instead, just like how it worked in the past.

There was another guy a few years back who advocated getting rid of the roads altogether. At first I felt like you, that roads were too important, but then I remembered what I read in the history books, how the US didn't have roads a long time ago, and occasionally someone would get the idea to build a highway, really, a dirt path, so that people could travel through areas. That was pretty much it back then.

We don't need roads as much as people think.
