It's obviously what he had to do for the good of the German people. The German people back then were not ready to hear the truth.

It’s not that they “weren’t ready” so much as he didn’t want to deal with religious schisms during the war me thinks, Call it playing politics as it were. I’m personally not a pagan nor Christian, while I admittedly have a slight preference for the former I’m an agnostic atheist (My belief is essentially either athiesm or “great experiment” deism are the only logical answer to this world, or worst case, a variant of Gnosticism, though I’d prefer if not)
