The Pope of the time was explicitly against National Socialism, and no that's not because he was "subverted". It's because he understood that the worship of a circumcised Jew who denied biological inheritance and the importance of the family was incompatible with the fundamental worldview of National Socialism and of any kind of racial consciousness.

If you think Christianity is ideologically compatible with National Socialism that means you either don't understand National Socialism, or you don't understand Christianity. How you can open the gospels and read Jesus telling you to hate your family and think "this is fine" is beyond me.

He wasn't all about it. He had an interest in Germanic paganism as a cultural and religious thing before Christianization, and he seemed to hold it in high regard. It's important to note that Germanic paganism, like Hellenic paganism, was not the same kind of thinly veiled barbaric demon worship as that of 'baal', 'moloch', 'remphan', 'chiun', 'horus' etc. The Germanic pagans and the Hellenes almost never committed human sacrifice to my knowledge as opposed to the Levantine gods.
