A few of mine I use for basting have confit garlic and thyme. Another roll has chives.

Ah I see, a man of class. Do you need a special device for that or can you do it your average kitchen?

A ramekin or any high sided small baking disk for the confit garlic, a food processor, and either cling wrap or parchment paper to roll the butter up. I use parchment.
