The literal dictionary definition of a 'holocaust' is a burnt offering. It's telling that some of the earliest fable-writers only mentioned literal burning methods (bodies thrown into fire pits, holocoaster carts tipping jews into giant furnaces, etc.) - no gas chambers.

God isn't there to do everything for us, God gave us free will to deal with our problems ourselves. If God did all of the work, the world would be quite boring and we wouldn't have really done much of anything as a people at all. As hard of a pill as it is to swallow, we 100% let this happen and it wouldn't have happened if we didn't pollute our *own* thinking to be more amicable towards them (I'm looking at *you*, enlightenment philsophers). This was our fault. The breakdown of community and collective identity began with *us*, not them. They just hitched a ride after a chink in the armor developed, like a parasite, and made it 100x worse than it ever would have been organically.
At this point, we're paying for our own sins, but that doesn't mean "oh woe is me oy vey, do nothing and wait for Jesus to come back". There's time to repent and enact physical removal of the parasite.
