That was the first thing that came to my mind. Could it be possible that parasites could be responsible for the described effect in the OP image, thus revealing more of a symbiotic relationship between the cat and the parasite?

I have looked at solutions to this problem, such as a 24/7 cat curfew. However, the only realistic solution seems to be the total abolition of cat ownership, combined with a serious reduction in the number of cats in the wild. If any link can be established between toxoplasmosis and anti-natalism in humans, that makes this even more imperative.

When did the "Cat Lady" stereotype go from being negative to positive? It must've been around the same time when DINK (Dual Income No Kids) became the norm. I don't understand how men and women can live their lives endlessly generating income with no future prospects, like their only plan in life is to waste away comfortably lying on a pile of cash (or lack thereof). The best thing a man or woman can do is have a child, nothing comes close to the miracle of birth and the experience of motherhood / fatherhood.
