The crux of the problem is finding a way to ensure that healthy people don’t pay for the conscious decisions of the unhealthy. Nothing else can be trusted to be regulated without abuse or totalitarianism. If we can simply make it uneconomical to be fat, people will stop being fat.

Fortunately for the most part we do not pay in to a unified healthcare -- which is a huge reason not to have one.

Except the collective cost of the fat is in time, resources, and manpower, all of which are finite. Medical resources distributed to fats are *not* distributed to real people. This causes artificial economic scarcity, driving up the cost of treatment for everyone. It’s nothing to do with communist systems and everything to do with the nature of economics itself.

That and stop subsidizing goyslop. Corn syrup and soybean oil are only dirt cheap filler ingredients because of farm subsidies, after all.
