considering all the "nazis were muh authoritarian" propaganda comes from when they were literally at war and *had* to curtail certain freedoms (while the allied nations were equally tyrannical at the time, but had the gall to claim they were fighting for liberty and democracy as they forced young men to die in a war they had no business being in to begin with), I'm not sure a peace time post-war nazi germany would be all that authoritarian.
