# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom Trumpler] (https://arete.network/polls/39f7e396-11a0-4c41-9cf4-deaf34f80341/)
In this weekly we consoooooooooom Trumpler! Unless you been living in a log cabin off grid for the last two weeks you likely know Trump has been arrested. So, what did he do? They must have finally gotten him for his trips to Epstein Island? Oops, wrong guy. Wait oh it must have been for his son’s shady business deals with Ukraine and China. Dang, wrong guy again. Oh, wait, it has something to do with that corn star Hurricane Denise? Wasn’t all this nonsense settled like years ago? Who knows... Just need to crack open a few more Dylan Mulvaney Bud Lights and turn on CNN. Is there any sports ball on?

Discussion ideas:

* What is your opinion on Trumps arrest?
* Is it really campaign finance fraud or just weaponized lawfare?
* Do you think Trumps arrest have harmed his prospects for 2024 or helped?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom Programming] (https://arete.network/polls/565eae5e-d858-465b-b5ba-983505814af1/)
In this weekly we consooooom programming! This isn’t the typical “l3ARN to code” meme. This is an art of programming thread. You don’t like the state of video games, policies on websites, or the way apps work? Make your own! Do not worry about making something look, work, feel ‘perfect’ and corporate. Design is both an art and science. Use open-source software and libraries and make the digital world your oyster. It’s what all the technocrats have done, and they fear you realizing that you can make them obsolete as they did to many before them. Programming isn’t the kind of skill you merely learn all there is to know in a few months or years compared to many trades. When it comes to programming all you have is a set of core fundamentals and a mindset for improving through continuous learning. Hold allegiance to no single operating system, programming language, or technologies instead view them as tools to use in your toolbox. Embrace the terminal as Terry A. Davis said, “the terminal is for the white man”.
Discussion ideas:
* What is your opinion of the programming vs coding debate? What is the difference, does it matter?
* What video games, websites, or apps do you think should exist? What is stopping you from making it?
* Why do so many view programmers as these cringe Silicon Valley SJW types? Do you know any programmers/coders like that? Do you know any that you would consider ‘normal’ or ‘based’?
* Share your thoughts on programming? Or share projects or games you like or know someone is working on.

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom The Past]( https://arete.network/polls/58df12fd-4e44-489e-b303-a906cc333bff/)

In this weekly, we consoom the past! The places and moments in our personal lives or historical timeline which evokes a sense of nostalgia of a superior time. We often believe that things were better in the past, but at which period and what exactly seemed better? Is this sense of a better time a delusion waiting to be shattered by some schizoposter? “Um, actually TV sucked then, and it sucks now.” “People have always been censored and banned from platforms so what if it happens on the internet today!” “Don’t you know the government always lied, so what about X event who cares!?” “Mom's spaghetti came from a box and the sauce from a can; it did not taste better!”

Discussion ideas:
* Share a past memory or place in history you believe was better than the present day. Explain why you think the past was better.
* The past is important “you can't know where you are going unless you know where you came from”. Do you think nostalgia can have a negative influence on our decision-making and behavior in the present day?
* Do you think the internet distorts or enhances our perception of the past? Why do some people have nostalgic feelings for decades they never lived in?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom Sudden Death]( https://arete.network/polls/58df12fd-4e44-489e-b303-a906cc333bff/)

Continuing with our theme of conoooooooospiracy theories, in this weekly we consooooooom the COVID19 VAX. Experts will attribute news stories of sudden deaths in young people from strokes, blood clots, and heart attacks due to factors such as diet, sleep, and genetics. Some suggest that these sudden deaths among young people may be correlated with the COVID-19 vaccine. However, these claims are promptly dismissed by the same experts who recommended the vaccine. It begs the question: is it far-fetched to consider that some health issues could be linked to the vaccine, and why can't this possibility be at least explored?

Discussion ideas:
* What is your opinion on the apparent increase in deaths of young people from illness that are typically associated with older people?
* Do you know of any stories (IRL or from news) of people getting seriously ill after getting the covid 19 vaccine?
* Why is it taboo to suggest the covid 19 vaccine may have harmful side effects?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom Ayyyy lmao]( https://arete.network/polls/a8b07ca6-72ad-402e-a50c-13dea237901b/)

Ayyyyyyyy lamo! In this weekly, we consoooooom ayyyyyyyys! As you might remember, there was news about the U.S. shooting down some UFOs, which turned out to be Chinese "spy balloons" or weather balloons. Additionally, some people might recall the recent U.S. government acknowledgement of unidentified aerial phenomena and that blurry UFO military video. This raises the question: have slanted eyed aliens visited us? But seriously the more pressing question is why there is a sudden increase in the amount of UFO-related news being pushed. What is it they want you to not notice going on?

The Truth Is Out There!

Discussion ideas:
* What is your opinion on the Chinese spy / weather balloons?
* Why does there seem to be an increase in UFO-related news?
* Do you think that these weather balloon / UFO / unidentified aerial phenomena new cycles are building to something or is it just a distraction?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [touch grass](https://arete.network/polls/5a0d6668-bc4c-467b-9998-f7c9af96439b/)

In this weekly we touch grass. Some may use the term “touch grass” as an insult. But for this weekly we view it as good advice. Because it is a good thing to go outside and be grounded in the natural world and embrace family and the good company of friends. Evil forces want you to be disconnected from nature and feel isolated. They succeed only if you allow it. Which is why in this weekly we say touch grass!

Discussion ideas:
* Besides bad weather what prevents you from “touching grass”?
* Recommend outdoor activities to do with family or friends. E.g., hiking, swimming, skiing, football, disk golf etc...
* What are your favorite outdoor activities or outdoor exercises?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Guerilla Gardening]( https://arete.network/polls/6fe72938-9142-4358-9916-008c3066bebd/)

“If you seed, what I seed. You can seed the future!” – said some boomer somewhere.

In this weekly we CONSOOOOOOOOM Guerilla Gardening. Basically, Guerilla Gardening is simply just gardening in areas where you may not have permission.
The concept of Guerilla Gardening started in the 70s. The main idea behind it is to simply beautify decrepit neglected areas of land through gardening (typically without asking the owner of the land). This idea, if you will, sprouted around the world and is often practiced in urban areas. A tool of the guerilla gardener is the seed bomb, and it is used to cover large areas fast. Think Johnny Appleseed but urban rogue.

Now in all fairness, today most guerilla gardening is really quasi-legal community gardening clubs / organizations. And that isn’t a bad thing from the view of it being a fun hobby. A good explanation of Guerilla Gardening can be heard from [Richard Reynolds](https://youtu.be/mQPZsD8nKu4) a well-known guerilla gardener.

Discussion ideas:
* Is Guerilla Gardening bad? I.e., should people be harshly punished for gardening in places without permission?
* Do you think the area you live in could benefit from Guerilla Gardening? What kinds of plants would improve the area? Would you consider participating in “International Sunflower Guerilla Gardening Day”?
* Recommend robust plants for urban areas or share gardening advice.

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom the Falling Market]( https://arete.network/polls/4ce3dd82-8892-4381-89d8-3febb4451451/)

In this weekly we consoom the falling market! Some report that inflation is increasing while others argue it’s nothing to worry about. Simply going to the grocery store you will quickly notice the price of most things has increased, especially for the basics e.g., eggs, milk, and meats. If you follow the news even a little you have likely seen frequent headlines like X stock has reached all time low, Y cryptocoin is crashing, or Z utility is increasing in price. Given recent world events like the covid pandemic, and the “Russian special military operation” one might worry the world is on fire. But some might argue that it is just business as usual.

Discussion ideas:
* Have you noticed increased prices of groceries or utilities?
* Have you been affected by falling stock or crypto markets?
* Is this all a nothingburger? Or should you be worried? If there is reason for concern offer advice, e.g., items to have prepared, tangible assets, or smart investments choices etc..

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom Goyslop]( https://arete.network/polls/809d4e00-6e66-406f-be8f-61672b0e5c19/)

In this weekly we CONSOOM Goyslop! Yummy, yummy goyslop in my tummy. Yes, I will take two supersized quadruple beyond meat™ double quarter pounders with a large fry and a large Coca Cola ™ with a shot of extra goysyrup plzzzzzzzz ty ♥ XOXOX. Geeze, where did all my money go this month?

The goal of this weekly is to cover the phenomenon of [Goyslop](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Goyslop). For those unfamiliar with that term, urban dictionary provides us with some good definitions. In general, goyslop is any poor nutritional value -- overly processed foods and drinks that “taste good” but are unquestionably bad for you. The kind of food they tell you “it’s ok to eat every once and awhile” but you end up eating far more often than you should. These are the junk foods that are more commonly being consumed as staples like fast food, take out, chips etc…

A prime goal of this weekly is to share foods that you might not realize is goyslop and share healthy alternatives.

Discussion ideas:
* Share goyslop you’ve consooomed! Or know that others consoom!
* What makes something goyslop, why is goyslop so prevalent? i.e. why have junk foods seemingly become the norm?
* Share alternatives to goyslop. E.g., avoid these kinds of foods and ingredients and choose these instead, share an easy recipe to try, etc..

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom fREEEEE speech]( https://arete.network/polls/c4557a52-9584-4aef-9c75-4ad963065cf2/)

In this weekly, we consooom fREEEEEE speech. Most rationally-minded people see the importance of free speech. So much so that many countries consider it a God-given right or argue it is a fundamental human right. Ideally, free speech means no limitations on what can be said. We know that ideal comes with many ‘buts’ some examples of this include “shouting fire in a crowded theater”, the use of “fighting words”, the use of misinformation (fake news), denial or historical revision of certain events, “indecent use or expressions of speech” like pornography or “hate speech”. There are two prime regulators of speech, that is people (what is socially acceptable) and the Government (what is by law legal or illegal). These two censors sometimes align but often feel at odds with one another. The internet is largely seen as the circumventor of both censors enabling the idealistic form of free speech. In recent years the internet has strayed far away from the idealistic form of free speech largely due to the centralization of the internet where big tech actively works with Governments to combat and censor what they deem not acceptable forms of speech. Some see this censorship as a good thing and in some cases it is. However arguably most of this censorship truly appears malevolent. In this weekly we ask where is the fine line between free speech and unacceptable speech? Should all speech be allowed in the idealistic form of free speech or is it truly a complicated matter where we can’t have free speech in its idealistic form?

Discussion ideas:
* What does “free speech” really mean, what does it look like, and how is it supposed to work in society?
* Do you consider yourself a free speech absolutist?
* Where do you draw the line on what “speech”, or “forms of speech” shouldn’t be allowed? In otherwards when should speech not be free of consequence?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom A Better Time]( https://arete.network/polls/d49d3a73-2645-400b-8ede-be254b565cb6/)

Surely you recall a better time than the present. Maybe you have rose-colored glasses and warm nostalgia for some time in the past. Maybe it was a few years ago, or a decade ago that pulls away your appreciation from the now. In this weekly, we CONSOOOM a better time. The goal is to share what you think the tipping point was. Many people will answer differently for example some may say it was 9/11, some might argue it was when the Berlin wall fell, while others born in the millennium may suggest it was something else, they observed. Do not limit discussions of tipping points to major historical events. Maybe others will suggest more subtle tipping points that may not be obvious like changes in culture or internet zeitgeist. There are also personal or small social tipping points. Maybe your friends circle started doing drugs after getting into some music or your family hasn’t been the same after a dispute over COVID.

Discussion ideas:
* Share your rose-colored glasses view of what you think a ‘better time’ was.
* Share an event, or change you consider the ‘tipping point’ of that ‘better time’.
* Are there any positive tipping points you can think of? Are all tipping points bad, what similarities do they share?

# This Weeks Discussion Theme: [Consoom Zelensky]( https://arete.network/polls/7cd552e6-4372-4e1a-a30c-c72a70345f2c/)

In this weekly we CONSOOOOOOOOOM Zeeelensky! This should be a fun weekly because we all know that Zelensky is the hero of Ukraine and the greatest leader to ever walk the Earth. Why else would the United States send $50+ billion in aid to help Zelensky fight the USSR. He is like Han Solo and Putin is like Darth Vader. Wasn’t it beautiful when Kamala Harris and Nancy Pelosi held up the Ukrainian flag in congress while Zelensky demanded more money! Well at least he had a safe flight back to his home in Tel Aviv courtesy of the US Air Force.

Discussion ideas:
* Share your thoughts on the Russian “special military operation” thus far.
* When do you think Russia will be defeated? Two more weeks?
* All memes aside who if anyone is in the wrong when it comes to this conflict and why? There is a lot of propaganda from both sides. Share insight if you have it. War is hell and, in the end, only the winner gets to write history.
