Thinking about consuming a smoking pipe - what are your thoughts?

I used to smoke cigarettes but quit years ago. Not a hige fan of cigars, but I’ve been thinking about trying pipe smoking.
 
I could do herbal smokes instead of tobacco, not sure on that though.
 
What are some other thoughts on the subject?
 
I’m looking for something to go off and do that relaxes me. I’m wound like a top.

Ranchwater is actually a pretty good alternative.
 
I cut out all grain based products, including beer and whiskey. I've never felt better, but I have strong northern European blood, I've heard they have low tolerance for wheat.
