Why does this look so strange?
From a bank website. The exemplar of a man building his own house. This fine gentleman with a meticulously manicured beard gets dressed up in a brand new tie and hard hat. He has never worn either. He's having fun playing dress up. He grabs a tape measure and intently sights down it, not looking at the part that tells you the measurement. He has no interest in ever building his own house. After the photos are taken he gets back into his street clothes and collects his check for a hard day's one hour of work. Looking to go into debt? We can help! Welcome to the Bank of Clown World!
I want to build a high-trust community but the other day I offered to lend a fellow white man a tool if he would return it to me and he stole it. In retrospect I should not have trusted a drug user even though he was white. Drugs will hold us back. How can we realistically stop white men from using drugs?
I started drying my razor blades because I noticed when I put my razor (double-edged safety razor) away wet I would have to change the blade next time I shaved. I didn't think much about the micro-mechanics but I found this paper interesting and it reaffirms what I observed myself.

Spoiler: Cleaning and drying your razor blades extends their life a lot while "microchipping" has very little affect.
Story time!

I bought a washer and dryer set that I found on Craigslist or maybe Facebook Marketplace. I drove out to the place and found out it was a warehouse in an industrial park. The guy selling it was a Russian with a whole warehouse full of used appliances and while I was following him to show me my set he had others come up and pay him -- business was good. He demonstrated that the appliances worked and gave a "one week guarantee" if something went wrong. I thought it was weird that the ad looked like a personal ad compared to this big business but it was a great brand (Speed Queen) at a great price and I went home happy.

After getting the set home I noticed that one of the feet was bent and couldn't be adjusted. Red flag but the other foot was still adjustable so I just leveled it with that one. After using the dryer for a few weeks I noticed the arrow on the knob did not line up with the cycle that was running. Another red flag but not a big deal and I took the opportunity to 3D print a replacement knob as a project. I could have bought a replacement for $6.

Last week, the heat quit working. I open the front panel to most likely replace the heating element and instead I found one of the wires was charred and burned out of the connector. Looking closer at the heating element (and watching a few videos) I found out that all the wires were backwards. This was a dangerous problem that could have caused a house fire and I am telling this story because I think it wouldn't happen with a normal homeowner selling their appliances but since it was a warehouse they probably grabbed parts they had and slapped it together good enough to sell. So the moral of the story is to be cautious when buying appliances and if the place or guy seems a little sketchy he probably is.

So anyway, that's how a Russian almost burned down my house. Thanks for reading! Like™, Subscribe™, and hit that bell for Notifications™!
I'm looking for the worst offenders. Not "Black Rifle Coffee" that tried to remain neutral in a self-defense case. Not Facebook rainbow logos pandering to the culture. I mean public corporate statements saying "if you don't support our politics we do not want your business" like Starbucks CEO telling shareholders that don't like the anti-traditional marriage stance of the company to "sell your shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company." If you could convince a Boomer to stop patronizing *one* store, which is it?
In the Revolutionary War (named by the winner) one side called the other "rebels" to accuse them of immaturely fighting against authority. These "rebels" called themselves "Revolutionaries" because their modern society had become so bad that they saw the need for it to "revolve" back around to tradition and the way things used to be. We are Revolutionaries.

### What are some good web development resources?

I decided to pick up back end web development as a hobby/backup career and was wondering what it would take to work for a company like Gab or even this website.

I started watching videos from [Web Dev Simplified](https://www.youtube.com/c/WebDevSimplified) on YouTube, and there he suggested following an [education roadmap](https://roadmap.sh/backend) and doing projects. I have some ideas for projects but still feel like I'm in the exploration stage. I also saw a good [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79pKwdiqcwI) posted recently about making money in WebDev .

Is this a good enough starting point?
