Guardian dogs like maremmas are great but you need to be breeding them as well to replace the ones that get killed, especially if you live in a country with wolves and lions. You can get defensive collars for them but unfortunately there's not much you can do to stop them being bitten by snakes.

A colour could be defined in a couple of different ways. You could define it by its wavelength, and it could also be defined according to the beholder's perception - here I'm thinking of the Himba tribe who consider blue to be a shade of green, or the Russian people who consider dark blue and light blue to be separate colours, just like English speakers consider red and pink to be separate.

I know that it takes a few weeks, roughly, to develop a habit. Usually when people try something and then give up, they've only been doing it for a short time, less than a couple of months. After you push past that initial adjustment period it becomes a habit, and habits are hard to give up. So you can create good, lasting habits with just a small amount of perserverance.

If you want to stop doing something, like smoking, or eating too much, spending too much time online, denying yourself from it can just make you crave it more. What you can do is allow yourself to have it, but after ten minutes. Sometimes you'll still do it, but a lot of the time you won't. It gives you time for that initial feeling to pass.

Getting a good dog and taking it for walks is a great way to get into the habit of meditative exercise, and you have a little friend.

I've never owned a television. Had one in the house when I was growing up, but never saw the need to spend my money on one. If I wanted to watch a show or a movie, I'd just pirate it. My missus brought one when she moved in and it lasted about 2 weeks before I was in a bad mood and smashed it with a hammer because some annoying ad was playing. Never again.

"There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the credit."

Would you say this same concept applies to the modern era in the form of corporate intellectual property?

All religious philosophies espouse the inferiority of material goods. It's these recurring themes we need to listen to most of all.

Wonder if the Royal Family will run with this and in a few year's time we'll end up with the last days of the British monarchy spent in sodomy and paedophilia. What a way to go.

Poor kid.
