Haha yeah there may be something to that! I remember chickens wanting to hang out around you, and running towards you or jumping onto your hands, regardless of whether you happened to have food, but those are memories colored by quite a few years, so they may not be reliable.

Ours huddle around us but get easily distracted by a grasshopper or the false perception of a phantom grasshopper that doesn't exist.
