Yep, while there's plenty of biology at play, Jesus *explicitely* offered them the first shot at heaven. The people we called Jews today are the spiritual and cultural descendents of those who spat on the Son of God's offer of salvation and sacrifice.

Every Jew is Jew by their actions.
