The Lindsay Clancy case, and the subsequent fall out has reopened, and piqued my interest on this topic of discussion again, both on the internet, and more specifically, and intimately, at a recent event I attended.

What say you gentleman? How “high” are your standards, and/or what are your non starters/negotiables, and instant disqualifies in 2026? What’s it like out there for some of you guys actively trying to navigate the minefield of mOOdern kikery they call dating today? Anecdotal experiences welcome. Let’s hear the good, and the bad.

I'm in a different boat from many because I'm a single dad but I have two potential wives.

1. In her 20s, wants her own kids.
2. Older, already has kids, and is entirely self-sufficient (ie same boat as me).

Everything else is pretty negotiable, imo. She'll change her personality to mesh with mine over time. But if she isn't in the kid headspace, she's useless.

Option 2 doesn't sound like you get anything out of that marriage

If its not about children then why would you even bother marrying a woman?

I already have children. I wouldn't mind more, but it's not a necessity. I don't really have a problem taking on someone elae's kids if they're taking on mine.

Two parent households do better, period. You're either getting dual incomes or one dedicated parent to care for the kids and home.

That said, I expect a scenario 2 wife to be crushing it. I'm not wasting time training or coddling her; she needs to be at least as on her game as me.

Sounds like wife number 2 would be more up your alley

Question is... Is she gonna be as caring about your kids as hers?

The answer is always both. 😎
