Also mean means nothing when you have billionaires included. The massive difference between the financial classes makes averaging them together a worthless endeavor. Most boomers are not millionaires. Probably the vast majority of them are not millionaires. I'd guess (without any research) that the median net worth of boomers would be somewhere in the 100k-300k range.

This is anecdotal but my parents and all their friends are millionaires or multi millionaires. These people were public school teachers, garbage collectors, a machinist, a cop with a stay at home wife etc… pretty average jobs.

Median is the superior measure with these arguments.

And agreed. Also people always leave out the grannies who lost their husband and then the house and are borderline destitute. Or the boomer with a now million dollar home that *isnt* paid off cause they did a few reverse mortgages over the years to pay for repairs or medical bills or whatever life threw at them and they're now almost under water.
