Perhaps the story, as told as a whole, and many of the concomitant othodox narratives are total bullshit.
But perhaps they really did liquidate 5+ million jews in total. I say 5+ million because even the most orthodox scholars put the figure at that; not actually a pure 6 million.
The scholar John Otto Pohl says he believes 5+ million did die, and that they deserved it. That's why despite being a PhD who is fluent in many languages, he's working as a janitor at a grocery store and can't find a job in academia throughout the entire world.
Perhaps he should learn Farsi.
